The Bearcats won an away game versus the South Stanly Rowdy Rebel Bulls with a score of 41-9 last Friday.
Anson players got a strong start, scoring 20 points in the first quarter to South Stanly’s 2 points. The Bearcats continued their streak in the second quarter, gaining 7 points while the Bulls scored none, bringing the score to 27-2.
In the third quarter, the Bearcats made 14 points while the Bulls again scored 0, bringing the score to 41-2. Although the Bulls started to make a comeback in the final quarter, earning 7 points to the Bearcat’s 0, it was too late: the Bearcats won 41-9.
Anson player #25 Jekev Robinson, a senior, earned 18 of the team’s 41 points. Will Smith (#10, a senior), Brandon Smith (#21, a senior), and Rayshun Davis (#9, also a senior) each scored 6 points. Manuel Alonso (#11, a junior) scored 4 points while Alex Wanko (#98, a senior) scored 1.
The Bearcats currently rank 5126 nationally and 152 in North Carolina. This game brought the boys to an overall 2-1 season score. Their next game will be at home versus Chesterfield at 7:30 p.m. this Friday, Sept. 13.
