Carolinas HealthCare System invites community to celebrate new medical campus

Carolinas HealthCare System is inviting the entire community to a celebration marking the start of its new healthcare facility in Wadesboro, Carolinas HealthCare System — Anson.

The event is scheduled for Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Anson Senior High School, 96 Anson School Road in Wadesboro.

Activities will include a prayer breakfast at 9 a.m. with church choirs, free health screenings throughout the day, a special speaker from Anson Historical Society, fun and athletic games for children, sign-ups for physician appointments if needed, information on health insurance for those who need it, shuttle bus tours of the new hospital campus, MedCenter Air helicopter and tours of Carolinas Med1, one of the nation’s few non-military mobile hospitals, which travels to disaster areas throughout the country.

Units from the Anson County Sheriff’s Department, Wadesboro Police Department, Wadesboro Fire Department, Anson Rescue Squad and more will also be on hand for the event.
