Polkton Town Council candidate arrested on drug charges

A candidate for Polkton Town Council was arrested last week after selling drugs to an undercover Anson County Sheriff’s deputy.

On Oct. 21, Anson County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Jack Wickham of Freemont Street in Polkton. He was charged with maintaining a dwelling for the sale and deliver of controlled substance; and two counts of sell and deliver of prescription drugs to an undercover officer.

Wickham was released on a $3,000 unsecure bond with a court appearance set for Nov. 4.

As of Tuesday morning, he was still listed as a candidate for Polkton Town Council at the Anson County Board of Elections.
