An open letter to the Anson County Commissioners

November 20, 2013

Do not tear down the old hospital and nursing dormitory as it is one of the few remaining historical buildings in Wadesboro. Don’t be so eager to destroy what cannot be replaced.

To Jim Sims, I would like to say, everything is not about money. That’s something people of another, better era understood, especially the ones who established our first hospital.

To destroy it would be to dishonor their memory and the great sacrifices they made to build it. Commissioners have a fourth option: let it stand as an acknowledgment of the legacy they left to this little town.
