On Nov. 17, Harvest Ministries Outreach Center held its annual “Thanksgiving at the Hill” event at the Oak Hill Apartment Complex in Wadesboro.

The event featured a traditional Thanksgiving meal courtesy of Harvest Ministries Outreach Center. Guests enjoyed turkey, ham, macaroni and cheese, creamed potatoes, desserts, drinks, green beans and more. Hundreds in attendance also were entertained by the TBC ( the body of Christ) dance team of HMOC, along with the Fusion Drama Team.

To conclude the event, children and adults received tickets and many won gift cards, prizes, food items, turkeys, and other great prizes.

Lead Pastor Steve Adams shared, “The Oak Hill community is one that we feel is part of us and we are part of them. It is always a highlight of our year to provide this meal, prizes, and really to just spend some time with the great people of this area.”

Adams wrapped up the event with a message of hope and encouragement for the holiday season, telling the crowd, “Some people don’t have much of a holiday, don’t have much to look forward to, but today you have the option, the choice to make a decision to live, to enjoy, and to share.” The event concluded with a special prayer where 30 individuals made decisions for Jesus Christ.

Pastor Adams thanked the people of Oak Hill, the people of HMOC, and Cynthia Williams, Oak Hill Apartments property manager, for once again allowing Harvest to serve the Oak Hill Area. Adams stated, “This event really reminds everyone involved of how thankful we should be, to simply see another year, enjoy another day, and be able to serve someone else.”
