Morven Las Amigas member Pat McCoy was crowned as the chapter’s queen during the 2017-2018 South West Regional Queens’ contest on March 25.

The event was held during the Las Amigas Southwest regional meeting, hosted by the Greenville, South Carolina chapter. Five chapters attended the meeting and each chapter had a participant to represent their chapter during the annual queens’ contest. The reigning queen will advance to the next level at the national conclave in June.

McCoy was crowned in December 2016 as chapter queen for the Morven chapter. She is a resident of Morven and the mother of three children: Cynthia Lindsey (deceased), Kenneth and Lykessa McCoy, and she has three grandchildren. She is a member of Streater Grove A.M.E. Zion Church in Morven, and her hobbies are mostly all sports, sewing and traveling. Her motto to live by is, “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you” and 1 Thessalonians 5:18, “In everything give thanks…”
