Dozens of people attended the annual fall festival in Wadesboro on Saturday.

Costumed children trick-or-treated at local businesses, played games, visited a fortune teller, played on a bouncy slide and more during the annual festival sponsored by Uptown Wadesboro Inc.

The uptown group provided foam pumpkins and rocks for children to paint and use other craft materials to make their spooky creations, and children participated in a costume contest.

Sabrina Clark took her son and young cousins trick-or-treating during the fall festival on Saturday. Clark wore a Cat in the Hat costume. Her cousin, Noah Horne, dressed up as Raphael from the “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” while Clark’s other cousin, London Horne, 6, dressed up as Elsa from Disney’s “Frozen.” Clark’s son, Adrian Hogan, wore a Batman costume.

The group visited several uptown businesses when trick-or-treating, including the Anson County Partnership for Children, H.W. Little, Wade Street Originals, Buff Monkey Gym and more.

Clark said they go to the festival every year.

The fall festival also featured storytelling, pumpkin-decorating, fortunetelling, a cake walk and giveaways from the Anson County Partnership for Children, the U.S. Forestry Service and Supreme Dental, whose staff handed out toothbrushes and toothpaste.
