ANSONVILLE — A Wadesboro teen was jailed on an attempted murder charge Sunday after allegedly shooting into a woman’s home on New Year’s Eve.

Patrick Lashun Taylor, 18, is charged with trying to kill Brandy Nicole Heistland on Dec. 31.

Taylor allegedly shot a black Ruger 9mm handgun into Heistand’s home in Ansonville, according to the warrant, which states officials believe Taylor did so with the intention of killing Heistand.

He is charged with attempted first-degree murder and discharging a weapon into an occupied dwelling, both felonies.

Court records list no pending charges against Taylor.

Taylor received a sentence of three years’ probation on Jan. 23, 2015 after being convicted of felony breaking and entering assault with a deadly weapon in March 2014 and of felony breaking and entering and carrying a concealed weapon in May 2014.

All defendants facing criminal charges are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty in court.
