State Sen. Tom McInnis visited Peachland-Polkton Elementary on April 8 in preparation for the school’s annual field trip to the state capital. He visited many classrooms and made a special visit to the fourth-grade classes, which are currently learning about their state government. McInnis, R-Richmond, represents Anson County in Senate District 25. “Senator McInnis is working extremely hard to assist our local leaders to obtain the resources that our county needs for continued growth,” said Peachland-Polkton Principal Travis Steagall. “He puts an extreme emphasis on economic development and education. He has served as a Board of Education member in Richmond County and knows the issues and challenges that rural schools and their counties face. As a citizen of Anson County, Senator McInnis’ efforts mean a great deal and are very encouraging. Our school appreciates the senator taking time out of his busy schedule to visit our school. ”
