LILESVILLE — Two individuals were both charged with assault after each allegedly struck the other in a fight on Sunday.

Kyle Forrest, 24, of Lilesville, and Michelle Odom, 23, of Laurel Hill in Scotland County, each allegedly hit the other.

Forrest was charged with misdemeanor assault on a female.

Odom was charged with assault and battery.

Neither have criminal records in North Carolina, according to the North Carolina Department of Public Safety Division of Adult Correction.

Both were given firearm prohibitions and denied bond until the next term of court, when pretrial release conditions can be determined. Both were subpoenaed to testify against the other and both are scheduled to appear in court July 21.

All defendants facing criminal charges are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty in court.
