INDIAN TRAIL — One hundred fifty excited Republicans cheered Lara Trump — daughter-in-law of Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump — last Wednesday afternoon as she cut the ribbon for the grand opening ceremony of the election headquarters for the Union County Republican Party.

Union County Republican Chairman Roger Stanton welcomed the crowd and called on the Rev. Jimmy Bention for the invocation.

Mrs. Trump reminded the group that she, herself, is a Tar Heel, hailing from Wilmington.

She spoke of her father-in-law’s love for America, saying that he had begun to notice the deteriorating condition of the country and decided that he must do something about it. She added that, “..and when Donald Trump decides to do something, he does it.”

She praised Mr. Trump for his love of family as well, talking about his sense of fairness and his wisdom in business practices, which she said, “will serve him well in the oval office.” She added a note regarding North Carolina’s importance in this election.

The GOP headquarters is located at 104 Indian Trail Road, Indian Trail, NC. Election materials on all candidates can be picked up at this location.
