The Anson County Sheriff’s Office and the Anson County Partnership for Children will jointly hold Operation Medicine Drop during the Safety Day event at Walmart this Saturday.

All are welcome to attend. “Please come and bring any old medications you may have so that we together can dispose of them safely,” the Sheriff’s Office invited in an email release.

Operation Medicine Drop is a partnership between local law enforcement and Safe Kids North Carolina and the Drug Enforcement Administration, according to the website of the North Carolina Department of Justice. “Safely disposing of old medications through Operation Medicine Drop events instead of flushing them down the drain prevents chemicals from ending up in the water supply,” the DOJ website states.
