The Wadesboro Police Department arrested Michael Antonia Pickett, 31, following a short chase on Oct. 6.
Officers attempted to serve an arrest warrant at the Cherry Street residence when they saw Pickett escape out the back door, according to Captain Brandon Chewning. He was quickly caught and arrested.
Pickett had approximately five ounces of marijuana with him, according to Chewning. He was charged with possession with intent to sell or distribute marijuana (felony), felony possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia (misdemeanor), and resisting a public officer (misdemeanor).
He received a $10,000 secured bond and has a court date set for Oct. 21.
