The Anson County Chamber of Commerce and Anson Economic Development Corporation have joined forces to host the first Anson Economic Development Summit. The event was originally scheduled for Wednesday, but has been postponed due to expected inclement weather.
The summit is described as “a local conference to discuss the current state of Anson County economic development, generate ideas and foster discussion.”
The agenda includes presentations from County Manager Lawrence Gatewood and director of economic development Mary Beck, farmer Dale Nelson, manufacturers Hornwood Inc., Southern Fabricators, and Columbus McKinnon, legislators Sen. Gene McLaurin, Rep. Mark Brody, and Rep. Craig Horne, Anson County Schools Superintendent Michael Freeman, South Piedmont Community College president Stan Sidor, Regional Workforce Development’s David Hollars, and Tammy Whaley with Duke Energy.
