On Sept. 21, Harvest Ministries Outreach Center held its annual golf tournament, the “Harvest Invitational.”
The tournament is held to help raise funds for the Community Children’s Outreach of HMOC. This program, through transportation vehicles and numerous volunteer staff, serves between 500-1,000 children and families each Christmas through the Community Christmas Blessing Event.
Lead pastor and tournament organizer Steve Adams said, “Since my father formed HMOC over 14 years ago, the desire has always been to serve, help, and benefit our community, and this tournament, along with donations of local sponsors and golfers, will allow us to provide hundreds with a gift and meal during our Community Christmas Blessing event in December.”
Adams added, “I would like to thank the 20-plus sponsors who made this possible. Anson County has some of the most generous and thoughtful people, and it shows through an endeavor like this.”
Golfers began the day with the mindset of winning the $300 grand prize, all while benefiting a worthy cause. Prizes were given for the longest drive, closest to the pin, and many other door prizes provided by local businesses and restaurants. Participants were treated to a post tournament meal courtesy of LEGS (the women’s ministry of HMOC).
