Thanks to funding from the Kate B. Reynolds Charitable Trust to fight obesity among youth in Anson County, HOLLA! will now begin offering free aerobics and dance classes to youth ages 6 to 18. The classes will begin on Aug. 8 at 3 p.m. and will be taught at the HOLLA! Let’s MOVE Fitness Center in Morven.
Wadesboro native Joletha Felder will be the instructor. She has been certified as a group fitness trainer through the Interactive Fitness Trainers of America (IFTA).
Youth are also able to receive free karate classes and free access to the HOLLA! Let’s MOVE Fitness Center. The karate classes are being taught by Weaver Knotts Thomas, the owner of Just For Kicks Karate School in Wadesboro. The class recently graduated five students to white belts.
The HOLLA! Let’s MOVE Fitness Center is a feature of the HOLLA! Let’s MOVE Operation to fight obesity. The fitness center is opened Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdays.
