Jessica Hardison and Jason Carpenter were united in marriage at noon on Tuesday, May 15, 2012, at a Las Vegas wedding chapel, in a small, elegant ceremony. The double-ring ceremony was officiated by The Rev. Paul Chaffee.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ken Hardison of Wadesboro. She is the granddaughter of Dorothy Ann Hardison and the late Herman H. Hardison Jr. of Wadesboro, and Daniel Harward of Norwood and the late Lovenia P. Harward of Wadesboro. The bride is a 2004 honor graduate of Anson High School and a 2011 nursing graduate of Richmond Community College. She is employed with Anson Community Hospital as a registered nurse in the E.R.

The groom is the son of Sandra Carpenter and the late Roger E. Carpenter of Wadesboro. He is the grandson of Myrtle Lisk of Wadesboro and the late Mr. and Mrs. Roger Carpenter of Wadesboro. The groom is a 1999 graduate of Anson High School. He is employed with Carpenter’s Alternator and Starter Service of Wadesboro.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore an Allure Couture ball gown. The sweetheart bodice was embellished with soft flowers and lace appliques, while a ruched taffeta band defined the waist. The gown featured three-dimensional details with a chapel train. She wore a crystal headband and her grandmother’s Tiffany teardrop diamond necklace. Her bouquet was made especially for her by Sandra Carpenter, and featured purple and white chrysanthemums and roses wrapped in pearl applique.

Maid of honor was Ashley Hardison of Wadesboro, sister of the bride. She wore a berry wine Marilyn Monroe halter-neck cocktail dress. Her bouquet was a smaller version of the bride’s bouquet and was also made by Sandra Carpenter.

Ken Hardison had the honor of being his son-in-law’s best man. Special guests included Bill Warner of Dearborn, Mich., and Lynette Sellers and Alex Dollente Jr. of New Mexico.

After the ceremony, guests enjoyed a reception at Vegas Weddings. The focal point of the food table was a Vegas-decorated chocolate raspberry cake. Guests enjoyed an array of hors d’oeuvres. The weeklong wedding festivities ended on May 17, with a dinner cruise on Lake Mead.

Upon returning home, the bridal couple was honored with a Southern barbecue hosted by their parents. Guests enjoyed barbecued pork and chicken, along with baked beans, three types of coleslaw, rolls and an array of desserts. The guests were entertained with music by Natural Reaction.

On March 25, a miscellaneous shower was held at Calvary Episcopal Church, hosted by Sandra Carpenter and Brenda Hardison.

A registry shower was held on April 22 at the home of the bride’s grandmother, Dorothy Ann Hardison. The shower was hosted by the bride’s grandmother and the bride’s aunts, Fonda Hardison, Ann Black, Terri Hardison, Kim Hardison and Charlie Moore.

The bride enjoyed a gift card shower on April 24 at Anson Community Hospital, hosted by Jennifer Horne and Janet Ballard.
