Mary Gill, 100, of Charlotte, passed away Nov. 30, 2012 at the Little Flower Assisted Living Center.
She was born Oct. 14, 1912 in Wadesboro. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, W.T. (John) Gill; brothers, James Hutchison and Benjamin Hutchison; sister, Frances Smith; and grandchild, Adam Gill. Gill, a registered nurse, graduated from Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in 1934.
Surviving are her sons, John Gill and his wife Barbara Guthrie, and Charles Gill; grandchildren, Jeremy Gill and Jason Gill; great-grandchildren, Waylon Gill, Julian Gill and Martin Gill; brother, Richard Hutchison; sisters-in-law, Lucille Wise and Coleen Gill; and other numerous loving family.
The family will receive friends at a visitation held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at McEwen Funeral Services, 5716 Monroe Road, Charlotte. The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. There will be a reception following the service. A graveside service will be held in Bennett Grove Cemetery in Wadesboro, at 2 p.m. Thursday.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Little Flower, 8700 Lawyers Road, Charlotte, NC, 28227, where “Miss Mary” was so lovingly cared for during her final years.
