UPDATE: 4 p.m. Tuesday The Wadesboro Police Department has identified the victims of the shooting on Monday evening. Police identified the victims Tuesday as Jerry Thomas Rorie, 25, and Marcus Antonio Allen, 24.
The WPD is still investigating. The police believe it was gang violence, probably the rival gangs Bloods and Crips. The shooting took place at a residence on Salisbury Street. One of the victims ran approximately 50 yards east up the sidewalk to the 74 Stop & Shop where he collapsed. He later died of his injuries.
The shooter has not been apprehended, though the WPD is talking to persons of interest, according to a WPD spokesperson. Anyone with any additional information on the shooting is encouraged to contact the police department at 704-694-2167.
The shooting on Salisbury Street on Monday evening left multiple fatalities, according to Anson County Sheriff Tommy Allen.
There were several DOAs, according to the sheriff, who said that the Wadesboro Police Department is conducting the investigation. A WPD spokesperson declined to comment. WCNC reported two fatalities. It is unclear whether the shooter is among the dead, arrested or at large.
More than a dozen police and other responder vehicles were at the site long after the incident. An area from the 74 Stop & Shop at the corner of Salisbury Street and Catherine Lane extending roughly down to the Food Mart was cordoned off by police.
One bystander advised the reporter to be wary. “This isn’t over,” he said, pointing out what appeared to be a covered body at a gas station cordoned off by police tape.
His friend agreed. “There ain’t no way to stop gang violence,” he said as they walked away from the scene.

The closest I have gotten to any sort of answer is that one of the participants was killed in July. This has not been confirmed as I have not even been given the decency of a callback from your District Attorney Reese Saunders.
