Margaret Huntley Smith and Kristopher Lee Bass, both of Winston-Salem, were married April 14, 2012, at seven o’clock in the evening at Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church in High Point. The Reverend Dr. James Alexander Ward Jr. officiated at the ceremony.
Music was provided by Dr. Michael Patrick Dougherty, organist, and Caroline Oliveira, soloist.
The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Ernst Bischoff Kemm of High Point and Randolph Harrison Smith of Bray’s Island, S.C. She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Fulton Allen Huntley of Wadesboro and the late Mr. and Mrs. Herman Harrison Smith of High Point. She is a graduate of Salem Academy and Wofford College, where she was a member of Kappa Delta Sorority. She received her Master of Medical Science degree from Wake Forest University School of Medicine Department of Physician Assistant Studies. She is a PA-C with Salem Chest Specialists in Winston-Salem. She was presented by the Terpsichorean Club in Raleigh and the Debutante Club of High Point.
The groom is the son of Dr. and Mrs. Ernest Claude Bass of Greenville. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs.Claude LeRoy Jones of Shreveport, La., and the late Mr. and Mrs. Delphine Bass of Ashdown, Ark. He is a graduate of J.H. Rose High School in Greenville, and received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Management Information Systems from East Carolina University. He is employed by Treasury Management Client Service with Wells Fargo Bank in Winston-Salem.
The bride was given in marriage by her father. She wore a wedding veil which had belonged to her maternal great-grandmother.
Maid of honor was Sarah McKinnon Riley of Birmingham, Ala., cousin of the bride. The flower girl was Sarah Pleasants Bossong of Raleigh and the ring bearer was Master Fulton Huntley Bossong Jr. of Asheboro, cousins of the bride.
Best man was Dr. Kenneth Ernest Bass, father of the groom. Groomsmen were Kevin Ernest Bass of Winston-Salem, brother of the groom; Sean Christopher Winbourne of Greenville, brother-in-law of the groom; Joseph Culverhouse Bossong Jr. of Charlotte, Fulton Huntley Bossong of Asheboro, Julian Redwine Bossong of Raleigh, cousins of the bride; and Dr. John Walter Lindsay of High Point.
The program attendants were Joseph Culverhouse Bossong III, Edward Julian Bossong, William Hemingway Bossong, and Frank Ansley Bossong, cousins of the bride.
The wedding directors were Mrs. Carter Barton Lassiter, Mrs. William Allen Russell and Mrs. Joel Eugene Williams.
The parents of the bride hosted a dinner and dance at the High Point Country Club following the ceremony. The parents of the groom were joined by Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Culverhouse Bossong, Mrs. Harry Glover Hodges, and Mary Leslie Huntley in hosting a rehearsal dinner at the String and Splinter Club on Friday night. A wedding day brunch at the home of Sarah Boyle Phillips was given by family friends.
After a wedding trip, the couple will live in Winston-Salem.
