“The purpose of the event is to serve as a resource fair for children and families in Anson County who are currently experiencing, or on the verge of experiencing, homelessness,” explained Eric Faulkner, contract administrator with Union County Community Action.
Individuals and families who attended the fair were given goody bags that included some basic toiletries and were also provided information on services available for the homeless and those at risk of becoming homeless. Free blood pressure screenings were also offered by nurses and social workers from Anson County Schools.
