A crowd turned out to celebrate the Fourth of July — a few days late — at Uptown Wadesboro, Inc.’s monthly Summer Jam concert on Friday night.

The concerts are held monthly every summer, with the July concert serving as the town’s Fourth of July celebration. After a concert by the band, Liquid Pleasure, there was a fireworks show. Inflatable slides and moonbounces were also on hand for the kids. Refreshments were on sale, as well, with proceeds going to help local girls reach their goal of getting to the U.S. Barrel Team.

Liquid Pleasure played a variety of well-known tunes, from classic R&B to beach music and country hits. The next Summer Jam concert is planned for Aug. 3 on East Wade Street, 7-10 p.m. with the Loaded Dice Band scheduled to perform.
