Two men from Anson County have been arrested on drug charges by the Pitt County Sheriff’s Office in Greenville.
Charles Curtis Newsome Jr., 24, whose address was listed as Peachland, was arrested and charged with possession and distribution of methamphetamine precursor. He is being held in the Pitt County Jail under a $30,000 bond.
Gene Hallon McGowan, 52, was arrested and charged with possession and distribution of methamphetamine precursor, driving while license revoked, trafficking methamphetamine and possession of a firearm by a felon. Though McGowan’s address was listed as Greenville, Anson County Sheriff Tommy Allen said that he is from Anson County. McGowan is being held in the Pitt County Jail under a $335,000 bond.
“We’ve dealt with both of these suspects here in Anson County multiple times,” Sheriff Allen said. “We’re glad to report to the citizens of Anson County that they are behind bars.”
