An Anson County race car driver will make his ARCA Racing Series debut this weekend at Salem Speedway.

Brandon Lynn, 20, of Burnsville will be one in a four-driver line-up for Lira Motorsports this Saturday at the 200-lap ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards at Salem Speedway in Indiana.

Lynn will be in the No. 36 car, with Polkton business Cribs Creek Outfitters as his primary sponsor. Cribs Creek is owned by Lynn and his father.

The young racer graduated from Weddington High School and is currently a junior at UNC-Charlotte studying business management.

He wants to become a professional driver. “Hopefully racing will take off,” he said. “I want to drive full-time.” In 10 years, he sees himself racing at the NASCAR level. “Carrying out my dream, hopefully being a professional race car driver.”

Racing is a “family passion,” and he has relatives who have raced, he said, adding that he began racing when he was very young. His driving hero is Jeff Gordon.

After his race at Salem Speedway this weekend, Lynn will race in the Kansas ARCA 150 on Oct. 15 from 7:30-9:30 p.m. CDT. It will air on Fox Sports 2.

Locals can watch Lynn race this weekend using ARCA’s pay-per-view option available for $9.98 at www.arcaracing.com. The live broadcast button is available on the right side of the page.

The broadcast will begin at 6:30 p.m. EDT with the pre-race show, and driver introductions will be shown at 6:45 p.m. EDT. The race will be broadcast at 7:15 p.m. EDT.
