After a hiatus, PeopleFest is back. The daylong festival will be held starting at 10:30 a.m. this Saturday in uptown Wadesboro.

More than 50 vendors will line Greene and Wade streets, with a variety of games, food, jewelry, clothes, toys and much more.

An opening ceremony will be held on the Town Square at 10:30 a.m., followed with a performance by Majorettes by Melanie.

At noon, PeopleFest will host its first ever pet costume contest, with local dogs and cats modeling a variety of funny costumes and featuring their “talents,” Town Manager Alex Sewell said.

Live music will follow, with the Church of God of Prophecy youth group at 12:45 p.m., The Mix at 1:15 p.m., Lucas Gathings at 2 p.m., Sons of Saran at 3:15 p.m., and the Bessie Chapel Divine Angels at 4:30 p.m.

Music and food vendors will begin breaking down at 5 p.m., and the evening will end with a performance at 6:30 p.m. by the Swashstones, followed by a fireworks display at 9:30 p.m.

The 2015 PeopleFest will also play host to the Zombie 5K at 7:45 a.m., and the Discover Anson Bike Ride immediately following, at 9:15 a.m.
