Ronald Shalar Henry, 68, died Tuesday, Dec. 21, 2010 at Cherokee Hospital in Cherokee.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 24, in the Chapel of Leavitt Funeral Home, Wadesboro with Dr. Kinney Wallace officiating. Interment will follow in Anson Memorial Park.

The family will greet friends Thursday from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home and other times at the home.

Ronald was born April 5, 1942 in Anson County, a son of the late Ernest Raymond and Mary Elizabeth Morris Henry. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, having served during the Vietnam War and was retired from CSX Railroad with 32 years of service.

Surviving are his wife, Joyce Martin Henry of the home; his daughter, Stacy Harrington of Polkton; his brother, Mickey Henry of Chester, S.C., and his sister, Linda Tarlton of Kodak, Tenn. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Bill and Larry Henry.

Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
