Margaret Lockler Black, 86, died Monday, Feb. 21, 2011 at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 25, in the Chapel of Leavitt Funeral Home, Wadesboro, with Rev. Irvin Thompson and Rev. Jimmy Knotts officiating. Interment will follow in Anson Memorial Park.
The family will greet friends Thursday from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home and other times at the home of her daughter on White Store Road, Wadesboro.
Margaret was born in Richmond County, Nov. 24, 1924, a daughter of the late William and Emma Norton Lockler. She was retired from West Knitting Mills.
Surviving are her children, Don Black of Chapel Hill, Fred O. “Freddie” Black Jr. and David Black, both of Wadesboro; her daughter, Carolyn A. Taylor of Wadesboro; grandchildren, Ray Black of Monroe, Joy Black Diggs and Miriam Black Sallee, both of Matthews, Megan Black of Dallas, Texas, Lisa Dawkins McDonald of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., Jacob Black, Casey Black and Haley Black, all of Wadesboro, and Latashia Phillips Funderburke; her great-grandchildren, Caroline Black, Grayce Black, Jeri Diggs, Wyatt McDonald, Timmy Funderburke and Abbey Funderburke.
Also surviving are her sisters, Ruth Johnson of Wadesboro and Elsie Hildreth of Lilesville.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred O. “Jack” Black.
