The third suspect involved in the Nov. 14 vandalism of Cedar Hill AME Zion Church near Ansonville was arrested early Wednesday morning, April 4, in Stanly County and is now in the Anson County Jail.

He is identified as Jacob Andrew Schrimpsher, 18, from Oakboro. Schrimpsher is charged with breaking and entering a place of worship, felony larceny and burning a church building. His bond has been set at $500,000.

On Monday, April 2, deputies arrested and charged two other suspects, Bryan Matthew Balser, 21, of Albemarle and Daniel Tyler Huneycutt, 19, with breaking and entering, larceny, damage to property and burning a religious building. Balser is currently in the Rowan County Jail under similar charges and under a $1,000,000 bond.

Anson County Sheriff Tommy Allen said that all three suspects have been charged and are in custody and at this time he expects no further arrests in this matter.

Damages to the church totaled tens of thousands of dollars. All repairs have been made and the church was re-dedicated last month.
