FLORENCE, SC — Betty Smith Adams, 80, passed away at the McLeod Hospice House on Oct. 3, 2012.

She was born in Polkton, a daughter of Marshall Albert and Ethel Graham Smith. She formerly resided in Morven, but had lived in Florence, S.C., for many years.

She was retired from Belk Department Stores and was a long-time member of Florence Baptist Temple.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd T. Adams Jr., and son, Donald Adams.

Survivors include a daughter-in-law, Jennie Adams; granddaughter, Chasity (Brice) Isgett; grandson, Chad Adams; great-grandson, Caleb Isgett, all of Darlington, S.C.; and two sisters, Margaret Henry and Frances Hyatt Harrington, both of Anson County.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in Mount Hope Cemetery, directed by Waters-Powell Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the graveside following the service.
