Fall: a great time to be in Anson

Fall is a busy time of year in Anson County.

On Saturday, Morven held its annual October Fest, which will be followed by Wadesboro’s big yearly festival, People Fest, this Saturday. After that, Uptown Wadesboro Inc., has its fall festival and early November will see Ansonville’s time in the spotlight with its annual Homecoming and the Discover Anson Bike Ride on Nov. 3.

While Anson may not see the legions of visitors that our neighbors in the Charlotte area enjoy, fall is the perfect time of year to show what this county has to offer. People Fest usually packs pedestrians into uptown as far as the eye can see, and the Discover Anson Bike Ride draws cycling enthusiasts from all over the region and state.

All of these visitors will have the chance to experience the rural, small town atmosphere that all of us experience — and perhaps take for granted — each day.

If you’re planning to skip the festivals, you might want to reconsider. No matter what your interests, you can find something fun to do — or eat — at People Fest, and the Discover Anson Bike Ride offers some of the area’s most picturesque scenery.

Fall gives Anson County not only the chance to shine for outside visitors, but also, a chance for Anson residents and natives to appreciate all that this county has to offer.
