Polkton — Vester Ken Smith Jr., 66, died Nov. 23, 2012, at his home in Polkton.
Funeral services were held Sunday in Leavitt Funeral Home with Rev. Barry Gerald and Henry Furr officiating. The family greeted friends prior to the service. Interment was held Monday morning in Hillside Memorial Cemetery, Laurinburg.
Smith was born in Scotland County on April 11, 1946, a son of the late Vester Ken and Lucille Smith. He was married to the late Judy Fields Smith. Ken was retired from Parkton Nursery in Lilesville.
Survivors include his children, Kenneth Dale Smith of Wadesboro, Keith Smith of Laurinburg, Kattie Smith Faircloth of Longs, S.C., Kevin Smith of Lilesville; and four grandchildren. Also surviving are a sister and two brothers, Carirose Locklear of McColl, S.C., Richard Smith and Billy Smith, both of Gibson.
