The Wadesboro Police Department has identified the victims of the Jan. 7 shooting in the Salisbury Street area of Wadesboro. Police identified the victims Jan. 8 as Jerry Thomas Rorie, 25, and Marcus Antonio Allen, 24.
The police believe the murders were a result of gang violence, probably the rival gangs Bloods and Crips. The shooting took place at a residence on Salisbury Street. One of the victims ran approximately 50 yards east up the sidewalk to the 74 Stop & Shop, where he collapsed. He later died of his injuries.
The shooter has not been apprehended as of press time, though the WPD is talking to persons of interest, according to a WPD spokesperson. Anyone with any additional information on the shooting is encouraged to contact the police department at 704-694-2167.
