Anson County Schools has shared the following timeline for the High School Application Process for eighth grade students.

March 1 High School Application and Information Packets delivered to Anson Middle School and Anson County Schools (ACS) Administrative Offices.

March 4 Information Packet distributed to eighth grade students. ParentLink message sent to eighth grade parent(s)/guardian(s) informing them the eighth  grade students were given an information packet outlining the H.S. Application Process and the information is also posted on Anson County Schools’ website www.ansonschools.org .

March 5 Eighth grade students will meet with Anson High School staff at Anson Middle School during PE class.

March 6 Eighth grade students will meet with Anson County Early College staff at Anson Middle School during PE class.

March 7 Eighth grade students will meet with Anson New Tech High School staff at Anson Middle School during PE class.

March 8 ParentLink message sent to eighth grade parent(s)/guardian(s) informing them eighth grade students were given a H.S. Application packet and it is also posted on Anson County Schools’ website www.ansonschools.org .

March 8 High School Application Packets will be distributed to eighth grade students at Anson Middle School and will be available for non-AMS students at ACS Administrative Offices (320 Camden Road, Wadesboro).

March 11 Parent Forum/Information Night at SPCC Lockhart-Taylor at 6 p.m. to explain the High School Application Process and to provide information about each of the high school choices.

March 12 Open House for eighth grade parents and students at Anson New Tech High School from 4-5:30 p.m.

March 13 Open House for eighth grade parents and students at Anson County Early College from 4-5:30 p.m.

March 14 Open House for eighth grade parents and students at Anson High School from 4-5:30 p.m.

March 15 Eighth grade students will do their writing prompt for the High School Application Process in Period 2 classes at Anson Middle School.

March 18 All High School Application Packets must be turned in at Anson Middle School by 3:30 p.m.

April 9-11 The High School Selection Committee will meet to determine student high school placement.

May 31 High School Student Placement letters will be mailed to students.

June 4-17 Students/Parents/Guardians may request a reconsideration of high school placement. Please refer to The Process for Review and Reconsideration document on Page 4 of the High School Application Packet.

June 18-24 The High School Selection Appeals Committee will meet to determine student high school placement based on appeal information.

June 25 Appeal decisions for high school student placement will be mailed for everyone who requested an appeal.
