A crew from Lowery Construction began work on repairing the awning to Anson County's new administrative office building this week.

The fabric awning, which had become ripped, will be replaced by a solid awning made of stainless steel. The new awning, when finished, will be a medium bronze color, said Lowery Construction owner Lonnie Lowery.

Work was expected to continue through the week.
