Katherine Conrad Cash celebrated her 104th birthday on Feb. 9 at Greater St. Mark Church off Salisbury Street in Wadesboro.

Cash’s actual birthday is on Feb. 10, 1909. Her daughter says Cash still goes to church every Sunday.

Evangelist Peggy Hubert hosted the program on Saturday in Cash’s honor. For entertainment, “The Disciples of Rockingham” played music before and during the program. Peggy Hubert opened up the program after everyone sung “Happy Birthday” to Cash as she entered the building. Prayer was done by Deacon Odell Tillman. Willie B. Conrad did his own song selection for Cash and Catherine Pickett went over the history of the family. Many members and friends of the family gave thanks for Katherine Cash’s many years.

Closing remarks were made by Cladette McCauley and Carol Ingram.
