Feb. 21 UPDATE: The sewage line break problem was completely resolved on Wednesday and should not cause any further school closings or delays, according to spokeswoman Anne Hyatt. See the original story below.

All schools in Anson County will close early on Wednesday due to a sewage break. All elementary schools will close at noon and all secondary schools will close at 12:30.

Although all ACS after-school programs and athetic events within the county are canceled, away games will continue as scheduled, according to an email from the district.

Spokeswoman Anne Hyatt said the closings are due to a sewage pipe break in the western part of Anson County. Although the general area of the break was known, Hyatt said at 11:40 a.m. that she had been told that the exact break had not yet been located.

The Anson Record will update the story as further information comes in.
