Kesler Chapel A. M. E. Zion Church is sponsoring a health luncheon to bring a focus to the issue of health for all Ansonians. The luncheon will be held at Anson High School. Activities will begin at 11 a.m. and conclude at 1 p.m. The theme of the luncheon is: “Take Charge of Your Health in 2018: A Lifestyle Choice.” Luke Hyatt, a teacher and head coach at Piedmont High School and Dinikia Savage, health educator with the Anson County Health Department, will be on hand to share important health information and stress the importance of healthy living. The High-Land Gospel singers will celebrate their 63rd Anniversary at 6:30 p.m. at the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Ansonville. The Pleasant Hill male choir will celebrate their 7th Anniversary this same weekend.

April 12-14

Woman 2 Woman brings another Anointed Conference to Charlotte April 12-14, 2018 with the theme: ‘The Birthing Room.’ More information to follow. The monthly seminar to prepare for the Woman 2 Woman Anointed Conference will be held at the House of Judah Interdenominational Fellowship Church on 104 North School Street in Mount Gilead, from 10 a.m. until noon. Parsons Grove Prayer Ministry and Bible Study will be held every Wednesday from 6:30 p.m. until 8 p.m.

Victory Temple Miracle Center will hold Bible Study every Wednesday night at 7 p.m.

Intercessory prayer and Bible Study will be held every Wednesday at 5 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. at Sandy Ridge Missionary Baptist Church in Morven. Everyone is invited.

The Anson Singers, a community choir with members from Anson and surrounding counties, will resume rehearsals on Tuesday, Sept. 6, at 7 p.m., at First United Methodist Church, 118 E. Morgan St, Wadesboro. The Singers, directed by Emily Privette, will meet on a weekly basis each Tuesday from 7-8:30 p.m. in preparation for their annual Christmas concert. The Anson Singers is a non-profit, self-supporting group that is maintained solely through donations from community members and businesses. Anyone who enjoys choral singing is invited to join.

Evangelistic Outreach Center in Polkton, will be hosting another semester of Biblical Studies at 6:30 p.m. each Tuesday night. This semester’s study book will be “Christ Jesus our Royal High Priest.” If interested in becoming a student, call 704-851-9209 or 704-272-8876.

Rock Hill Missionary Baptist Church’s women’s ministry will sponsor fun for seniors, the Salt and Pepper for Unity, every third Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Rock Hill in Lilesville. All seniors 55 and older (exceptional adults, also) are welcome to attend. The church also has a Bible study every Wednesday at 6 p.m. The public is welcome.

Thursday’s Child, a community children’s choir for kids in grades K-6, meets Thursdays from 4-6 p.m. in the children’s choir room of First United Methodist Church in Wadesboro. Gail Litaker is the director. It is a total arts experience with good character in mind.

Cedar Creek Missionary Baptist Church holds Sunday school at 9:45 a.m. Morning worship is at 11 a.m. on Sundays, and prayer meeting and Bible study is each Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. The church will be at Anson Health and Rehabilitation every third Monday at 7 p.m.

North Wadesboro Baptist Church has intercessory prayer ministry at 9 a.m., Sunday School at 9:45 a.m. and morning worship at 11 a.m. every Sunday. A prayer and praise service is held at 7 p.m. Wednesdays. The church also holds brotherhood meetings at 6 p.m. every third Saturday at the church. There will be a Bible study and a meal. Any men interested in joining are welcome.

Flakes Chapel Missionary Baptist Church will hold a Bible study every Wednesday at 6 p.m. All are invited.

Voice of Evangelism Church holds Bible studies every Wednesday and Friday at 7:30 p.m. and worship service each Sunday at 10 a.m. An intercessory prayer is held every Saturday at 9 a.m. and every Sunday at 8 a.m. The “Lift Up the Savior Radio Ministry” is aired every Sunday at 8:15 a.m. on WKDX Power & Glory 1250 AM. Anson community prayer is held every first Monday of the month at 5:15 p.m. in Lilesville at Hatcher Park, Wadesboro on the square, Polkton on the square, Ansonville on the square and Morven at the park in front of Town Hall. All are invited to attend and pray for Anson County.

New Life Ministries holds church services Sundays at 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. and on Tuesday evenings at 7 p.m. Sunday school is held at 10 a.m. The church also holds a women’s Bible study at 6 p.m. every Friday. Calvary Episcopal Church in Wadesboro holds the following services: Beginning the first Sunday after Labor Day, the first, third and fifth Sundays of the month, Holy Eucharist will be at 11 a.m.; on the second and fourth Sundays of the month, morning prayer is at 11 a.m. Beginning June 3, on the first, third and and fifth Sundays of the month, Holy Eucharist will be at 10 a.m.; on the second and fourth Sundays of the month, Holy Eucharist will be at 8 a.m. and morning prayer at 11 a.m. Throughout the year, Wednesday evening prayer will be at 5:45 p.m. Thursdays, Holy Eucharist will be at 7:15 a.m.

The Greater Deliverance Food Pantry on Laccawanna Street in Peachland operates under the following schedule: Wednesdays, 10 a.m. to noon, and Fridays, 10 a.m. to noon. White Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church holds Bible class each Monday evening at 6 p.m.

A Bible study will be held each Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Forestville A.M.E. Zion Church.

Every Wednesday, Red Hill Baptist Church will have Bible study at noon.

Mount Pleasant Baptist Church has prayer service and Bible study at 7 p.m. Wednesdays. Sundays are pastoral days.

Camden Presbyterian Church, 6090 N.C. 109 South, Wadesboro, is a small body of believers who work to pay close attention to what God may be saying. If you are looking for a church home, bring a couple of cans of food to help feed the hungry through Crisis Assistance Ministry and worship with the church. Worship is at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday mornings.

The Church in the Name of Jesus Christ holds weekly prayer services Wednesday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m., Sunday morning prayer service at 11:30 a.m., Sunday praise and testimony service at 12:30 p.m., and the Sunday sermon at 1 p.m. The church is located at 1234 E. Caswell St., Wadesboro.

New Jerusalem Friendship Church of God, N.C. 52 South in Morven, has services the first and third Sunday of each month. Sunday school begins at 10 a.m., Morning worship is at 11:30. Bible class is Tuesdays at 6:30 p.m.

New Grove Missionary Baptist Church holds Sunday school at 9:30 a.m., morning worship at 11 a.m. and Wednesday night Bible study from 7-8 p.m. There are also free exercise sessions each Wednesday and Thursday at 5:30 p.m. Call the church for a ride to or from any event. A soup kitchen is held on the first, second and third Thursday of every month from noon until 1 p.m., at Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church at 612 Salisbury St., Wadesboro.
