WINGATE — Laura Maree Beachum, formerly of Wadesboro, graduated with a doctorate of education from Wingate University at Wingate’s fall commencement ceremony on Dec. 17, 2016.
Beachum is a 1995 graduate of Anson Senior High School in Wadesboro. She received her bachelor’s degree at University of North Carolina at Wilmington in 1999. In 2002, she also earned a master of education degree at Regent University, followed by her education specialist degree (Ed.S.) at George Washington University in 2005.
Beachum presently resides in Monroe with her husband, Craig Beachum of Chesapeake, Va. and their two children, Preston, 11, and Ruthie, 8. She is employed as the assistant exceptional children’s director for Union County Public Schools.
Her parents are Claude and Vivian Maree of Wadesboro.
