PEACHLAND — Friends, family and volunteers braced the rain on Feb. 13 for a fundraiser and memorial honoring the life of David Kiser.

Kiser died of liver cancer in April of 2020. A forester, Kiser was an avid outdoorsman and passed the time with a number of outdoor activities including fishing, hunting, and grilling.

Hands of a Sportsman hosted the event at Devil’s Rib Hunting Preserve. The non-profit organization is geared towards those less fortunate or with disabilities, helping them experience the outdoors.

The day started with about 30 hunters of all ages. These hunters were paired with volunteers that helped them accomplish shooting pheasants.

Following the shoot was a lunch and a live auction. The money raised from the event will go back to the non-profit to help fund new adaptive equipment and more events.
