POLKTON — The Sponsor A Child fundraiser, held at Four Branches Sporting Preserve, helped raise over $1,500 for the Anson County Partnership for Children Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library.

Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library (DPIL) is a gift giving program where children in Anson County receive one book a month from when they are born until they are five-years-old. The Partnership oversees DPIL.

“Four Branches Sporting Preserve would like to thank its donors for helping raise $1,575 for Anson County Partnership for Children’s Imagination Library,” Ashley Scarborough, owner of Four Branches, said in a press release. “With your generous support, we are able to sponsor 63 children…Your generosity is greatly appreciated!”

There are currently over 1,100 children in the county who receive a new book sent to their house each month through DPIL. Fundraisers like this one can help grow the program and ensure all children can receive new books.

“We are immensely grateful for the Four Branches Sponsor A Child initiative this year,” Anson County Partnership for Children Executive Director Caroline Goins said. “Since that launch, the owners have been invaluable supporters of DPIL and the annual Barn Blast fundraiser, which covers the costs.”

If you are interested in registering your child for DPIL, call the Partnership at 704-694-4036 or email ansonecrc@ansonchildren.org.
