WADESBORO — The Young Professionals of Anson and the Chamber of Commerce hosted the first Anson County Day of Sharing this month.
On Oct. 2, 14 teams and over 100 volunteers worked on service projects throughout the county. Volunteers did community projects such as trash cleanup, gardening, and yard maintenance. Teams included the Anson County Partnership for Children, Girl Scout Troop #1389, First Presbyterian Church of Wadesboro, Loba Wakol USA, Lynn Thomas Grading, Plank Road Forestry, Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, Rocky River Baptist Church, South Piedmont Community College, SPCC Foundation, Town of Wadesboro Administration and Police, Town of Wadesboro Public Work, Uwharrie Bank, and Wadesboro Fire Department.
“Thank you to all the volunteers, partners, and Day of Sharing committee for donating time and funds to make this event successful,” wote the Anson County Chamber of Commerce on Facebook. “A very special thank you to the Day of Sharing committee chairperson, Ashley Rivers Scarborough, for her leadership and hard work.”
They will host their second Anson Day of Sharing in October 2022.
