WADESBORO — Indie Studios hosted their fifth annual Halloween event “The Haunting of Rutherford Street” on Halloween Day. The event invited participants into the studio’s themed haunted house.

“Halloween brings out your creative side, and you can become anything. I love this about Halloween,” said Dawn McElroy of Indie Studios. “I always wanted to have trick or treaters and the studio was the best place to reach out to the community. We close the studio for about 3 weeks for preparation. We try to incorporate some of the art into the scenes. My favorite part is the reactions of the visitors.”

McElroy noted there was less turnout this year because it was a Sunday, but they still had a lot of spooky fun.

Indie Studios’ next event is an art workshop for witchcraft and wizardry on November 20 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The workshop is geared towards all ages and is limited to twelve people; all must be registered to attend.
