SPCC certifies 11 in truck driver training

MONROE — A graduation ceremony was held on Aug. 16 at South Piedmont Community College’s Old Charlotte Highway campus for the first ever truck driver training class. Eleven graduates from Anson and Union counties received their certificates and all had passed their Commercial Driver’s License exam.

The graduates are: Larry Bennett II, Jesse Campbell, Natasha Davis, Charles Holley, Tonja Judson, Romona McDonald, Michael Popowicz, Chadrenia Price, Troy Roithmeir, Marcus Sturdivant, and Bianca Tufano. Of the 11 graduates, more than half already have jobs to begin their new careers.

The truck driver training program provides extensive classroom as well as range and road driving to prepare students for a new career. SPCC offers the training in partnership with Caldwell Community College and Technical Institute.
