The Wadesboro Civitan Club will host its annual hot dog lunch on Tuesday, March 21. This lunch raises funds for Anson County Special Olympics and Anson County scholarships. Guests can eat in or pick up lunches at the Firemen’s Training Center off of North Washington Street or call for free delivery.
Those who come to the Firemen’s Training Center will receive drinks and homemade desserts to go with their hot dogs, while delivered lunches come with cookies and no drinks. Every $6 lunch includes two grilled all-beef hot dogs with trimmings on the side and potato chips.
The Civitans Club offers free delivery of small orders within a mile of the Civitan Scout Hut, and will deliver orders of five or more lunches anywhere in Anson County. The receptionist at Martin’s Furniture will take telephone orders at 704-694-3185 until 4 p.m. on March 20, but the club asks that orders be placed the previous week if possible.
Civitans will have the help of student volunteers packing hundreds of hot dogs per hour. Ten volunteers from Anson County Early College helped last March.
