John McCormick was recognized May 19 as the Piedmont Regional Outstanding Woodland Steward of 2018 at the N.C. Forest Service Stewardship Program’s annual landowner meeting.

The program is a cooperative effort to help woodlands owners realize the objective of managing their forests for the benefits they desire. The program is voluntary and participants receive recognition for achievements in promoting forest resource management.
