Two men have been arrested and charged with drug violations following a search Aug. 1 in North Wadesboro, the Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.

Sheriff Landric Reid said marijuana and weapons were recovered.

Johnathon Blount, also known as Mark Sparks, lived at the residence in the 300 blocks of U.S. 52. He was arrested and charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana, maintaining a dwelling, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Clifton Lee, of Monroe, was also arrested and charged with simple possession of marijuana.

“I would like to thank the citizens who voiced their concerns about the drug activity at this house and would encourage all citizens of Anson County to call our office or Crimestoppers Hotline at 704-695-3111 to report any drug or criminal activity,” Reid said. “You may remain anonymous. Working together we can make a difference.”
