After 13 years, the Anson County Partnership for Children is adding a pre-event online auction to the Barn Blast festivities.

This auction is in addition to the silent and live auctions. Supporters can bid and win items online, starting Thursday at 8 a.m. before the doors to the Barn Blast open. The Online Barn Blast Auction closes Jan. 24 at 6 p.m.

“Anson County has been so supportive of the Partnership by donating so many items that we want to open the event up to everyone, not just those lucky enough to get tickets,” said Caroline Goins, executive director. “This year everyone can bid on these specially selected Barn Blast items online, and now everyone can join the excitement of the Barn Blast.”

To view and bid on items, go online to ansonchildren.org and click on the Barn Blast tab. Select auction items can be viewed at presenting sponsors Poisson, Poisson, and Bower with locations at 200-202 West Wade Street in Wadesboro and at Uwharrie Bank, 211 S. Greene St. in Wadesboro.

Online auction items include a Cam Newton rookie Reebok jersey, an in-home wine party for 12 with a consultant, NASCAR Hall of Fame tickets, a European skull mount certificate and original art.

Auction items will be available for pickup Jan. 29 through Feb. 1 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Anson County Partnership for Children, 117 S. Greene St. in Wadesboro. Payment will be accepted upon pickup via cash, check or credit card.

Any items that are not claimed by Feb. 2 will be charged to the credit card on file, and ownership will be released back to the Anson County Partnership for Children.

All proceeds will benefit the Partnership’s early childhood educational programming. These programs include but are not limited to Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library which mails a book each month to more than 1,000 children in Anson County.
