Filing for the municipal election ended Friday, and the candidates are in for the Nov. 5 election.

Mitchell Huntley, Bill Thacker and Terry Helms are the candidates for Wadesboro mayor.

John Irvin Ballard Jr. refiled for his seat on the Wadesboro Town Council, along with Lewis Evans, Amanda Moak, Judy H. Little, and Jo Ann Bennett.

Tim Watkins and Carolyn Solomon have filed for the seat of Morven mayor.

Theodore Carr, Brandon Smith, Linda (Pill) Hinson, and Corinthia Lewis Lemon are the candidates for the Morven Town Council.

Cynthia Williams and Minnie P. Staton are the candidates for Polkton mayor.

Four of the five seats on the Polkton Commissioners board were filed by Sissy Stegall, Jimmy Hildreth, Cindy Heafner and Johnny Faulk.

Current mayors Richard Allen, Richard Harrington, Diane Timmons and Joe Estridge Jr., were the only ones who filed for the Peachland, Lilesville, McFarlan and Ansonville seats.

Candidates for Peachland council are Kenneth Rowell Jr., Jeffrey Davis, and Betty Hasty.

Frank McAllister, Lewis Adams, Juanita Williams, Bernice Bennett, Steven Whitlock, John Lester Montgomery, Peggy Treadaway, and Chuck Cook are candiates for Lilesville Commissioners

McFarlan council’s candidates are Christopher Harney, Debbie Bryant, Jimmy Grubb, Michael Foster, Gail J. Whittington, and Kim Gainey.

Ansonville’s candidates for town council are Phyllis Watkins, Denise Watkins Cannon, Sarah E. Burns, Jesse T. Huntley and Kimberly Burr.
