NCWorks Career Center — Anson earns certification

The NCWorks Career Center — Anson, located in Wadesboro, is now a certified career center and has met the NCWorks Commission’s criteria established for customer service excellence, the Centralina Workforce Development Board announced Friday.

A recognition ceremony will be held by the state at the NCWorks Commission meeting in Raleigh on Wednesday. The Career Center certification process was established by the Commission to ensure a consistent level of quality customer service throughout the state’s workforce delivery system, to promote an integrated delivery approach and to maintain service expectations of the NCWorks Career Center brand.

The certification means that major changes have occurred for the location. Anson County career seekers and employers will continue to have access to the workforce services offered previously at the Center. The certification only enhances the services, products, and overall customer service experience level for career seekers and employees.

“Customers can receive the same services here as they can in larger offices,” says Scott Clontz, center leader. “More comprehensive than before, this is a seamless transition for customers.”

The NCWorks Career Center — Anson recently relocated to 514 N. Washington St., better known as the Lockhart-Taylor Center in Wadesboro. The Lockhart-Taylor Center is located at South Piedmont Community College.

“The college has a number of classes and events scheduled daily and people realize that we are in the building and want to utilize our services,” Clontz said. “This is where we receive the bulk of our traffic.”

“It’s a great partnership for everyone involved,” he added.

Job seekers and employers will now be able to walk into a new, welcoming environment with many resources and services that were not available at their previous location in downtown.

The Centralina Workforce Development Board oversees the operation of all NCWorks Career Centers in the region and is proud of the hard work done by the Center staff to provide high quality services for the citizens and businesses in Anson County. The Board was also instrumental in ensured that the center stayed in the county when it was slated for closure by the State.
