WADESBORO — Family, friends and teammates joined senior wide receiver R.J. Jackson on Dec. 17 during his college signing.

Jackson committed to play at Campbell University where he plans on pursuing a marketing and business degree.

Jackson is the only football player to be signing during the early period.

He is a wide receiver and a force to be reckoned with. Jackson was named All-Rocky River Conference in 2018 and 2019. During his junior year he posted 43 catches for 685 yards and eight touchdowns, helping to lead the Bearcats to a conference title.

Jackson joins 11 other recruits during the early signing period as the newest teammates for Campbell University.

The Campbell University football team competes as a NCAA Division 1 team and plays in the Big South Conference.

Catch Jackson and the rest of the Bearcats return to the field on Feb. 26, as long as no other COVID-19 restrictions are put in place.
